Meet our fantastic team that you’ll be seeing around our pub and restuarant
EI’m Emma Pearson and have owned the Waggon at Hale since 2011. I’m a very hands-on landlady, you are most likely to find me cooking up a storm in the kitchen. On the occasions I venture front of house to serve on the bar, I do love a friendly chat with my customers. I come from a family of publicans, and have worked in many aspects of the hospitality industry for over 25 years!
Front of House, I have my supervisors Tarin and Sue. Sue loves to joke that she is the landlady, and sometimes, I’m happy to let her be! You might also be served by Kelly, Leanne, Kaitlyn, Bella, Michelle, Ebony, Dolcie, Ruby (there’s 2 of them!) Liz & Steph. It’s a very “girl power” kind of team!
Responsible for the tasty food, squirreling away in the kitchen, you’ll find Elise my right hand girl, Kenesha and Ellie-Mae, Toby & Leighton.
Out in the garden, our animals are taken care of by Celestine and Kenesha.
Dad Eric is a real help and can be relied on for cash and carry runs, fixing things, and pretty much any other task you can think of! A former landlord himself, he’s not out of place behind the bar either!
We also have a team of delivery drivers – some of you will now recognise Pops, Keith and Daniel – thank you for getting a taste of the Waggon into people’s homes!
Also, let’s not forget our recognition and national award for “Community Hero” in 2013 that acknowledged all the work we do with the local community, plus we were runners up for “Best Family Dining” in the 2013 Kent on Sunday Food & Drink Awards, and were winners of the Good Food Award in 2020!
We can’t forget our resident pub dog Sage who loves meeting and playing with other dogs that visit the pub.
